In order to furnish the needs of the profession of pharmacy, a shorter version of pharmacy program namely Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm.) was developed. D.Pharm. or Diploma in Pharmacy is an undergraduate Diploma course in the medical field of Pharmacy.
Also pharmaceutical manufacturing companies require diploma/ pharmacy graduates for production and marketing of drugs. The course provides the minimum qualification to become a registered Pharmacist in India.
The minimum qualification for D.Pharm. course is Intermediate examination passed in Science stream (PCB/PCM). After D.Pharm. , the students can pursue higher studies in Pharmacy by taken direct admission in B.Pharm. IInd Year.
